To prevent loss of time for fumigation of shipped cargo, the fumigation is often performed in transit.  This implies that the cargo is shipped ‘under gas’.  It is required that clear instructions are given to ventilate the cargo and to measure biocides concentration before discharging.  Only after a gas free certificate is issued, the cargo can be safely discharged.
